Celebrate Back to School Season with DeWeese

Another summer has flown by, and back-to-school season is approaching! It may only be July, but before we know it, school bells will be ringing in a new school year, and it’s time to get ready! To help you get started, your friends at DeWeese Design Salon Inc. have compiled a list of three things to do to get your child (and you) ready for smooth sailing on the first day.

1. Back to School Shopping

Back to school shopping doesn’t have to be a dreaded chore. With the right attitude and help from your kids, you can make this a fun tradition that you will all look forward to. Get out those school supply lists and make a fun day of picking out all the pencils and folders they could possibly need for the year. Then, spend another day picking out new clothes and shoes for the school year. Finally, this is a great time to stock up on products that your kids will need for the school year. If you have college-age kids, we recommend taking advantage of our liter sale to stock up on high-quality hair products that will last them through the first semester.

2. Get a Haircut

Many schools now require uniforms, making a good haircut even more important to your student. A fresh new cut and color are great ways for your child to express themselves and show their individuality among their peers. Even if your school doesn’t require uniforms, a fresh cut is still a great idea for beginning school as you want your student to look their best. We also love seeing our college-age clients again before they go off to school. If they attend school in a different city, they likely won’t have a salon they’re comfortable with yet, so make sure you bring them to us before they hit the road.

3. Plan Your New Routine

Finally, set aside some time to plan out your new routine. Most families take a relaxed approach to a routine during the summer and then have difficulty adjusting once school starts back up. We recommend setting an earlier bedtime and getting used to getting up early again so you don’t have grouchy kids on that first day back.
