How Is Our Salon Sanitized?

It’s been a long several weeks of self-isolating due to COVID-19. Your split ends have run rampant, your colleagues have now seen your real hair color on Zoom, and, frankly, you’re all too ready for some salon time. However, as Indiana begins to slowly and cautiously reopen businesses, our team at DeWeese Design Salon wants you to know that we are taking your health and safety seriously. That is why today, we’re going to let you know how our salon is regularly sanitized and what steps we’re taking to adhere to social distancing regulations.

Regular Sanitization

Even when the country is not in the midst of a pandemic, salons must be mindful that anything that touches the customer, including brushes, combs, rollers, clippers, and nail instruments, can cause disease and infection if not sterilized or sanitized between use. So our team is already in the habit of properly cleaning and sanitizing instruments between uses. We also wipe down and sanitize the shampoo bowls, chairs, counters, and all other surfaces that the customer may come in contact with.

Social Distance Guidelines

According to the state of Indiana guidelines, salons may reopen by appointment only and need to implement social distancing. This means that during your time in our salon you need to stay 6 feet away from other customers and stylists whenever possible. Stylists will wash their hands more frequently and we urge our customers to do the same. Additionally, all stylists will wear a CDC-recommended face mask that covers the nose and mouth and we ask kindly that you do the same.

Salon Environment

Finally, the salon environment is also being cleaned and sanitized more thoroughly in the wake of COVID-19. Door handles, windows, and waiting area chairs and surfaces will be wiped down more frequently. We will also be encouraging contactless payment methods whenever possible, and the credit card terminals will also be wiped and sanitized frequently. And, of course, if you are feeling unwell, please reschedule your visit.

At DeWeese Design Salon, we miss our customers and we are excited to be getting back to work! Thank you for working with us to help keep our Indianapolis neighborhoods healthy and safe. To make a haircut or color appointment, or ask about any of the new guidelines, contact us at (317) 271-8000.
