After the year we had in 2020 and all the events (including prom) that were canceled, 2021 is the time to celebrate! Because prom was canceled last year, our team at DeWeese Design Salon Inc. strongly recommends you make the most of this year’s prom – and what better way than with a stunning hairstyle? Our team is well-versed in prom hairstyles and we make an effort to always continue our education and stay up-to-date on current trends. So as you plan for your perfect night, consider these three hairstyles that are sure to turn heads and make an impression.

2021 Prom Hairstyles

1. Side Ponytail

If you’ve been blessed with long, luscious hair, consider a simple, yet seriously romantic and chic side ponytail. To achieve the look, start by creating a deep side part on one side of your head. Then, sweep your hair into a low ponytail on the other side and secure with an elastic. Finally, conceal the elastic by wrapping it with a strip of hair. This look is gorgeous on all types of hair and you can dress it up further by curling your hair before securing the ponytail.

2. Braid Wrapped High Bun

Loose, messy buns are very on trend right now, so adding in a braid for elegance is a great option for prom. For this look, you will likely need a hair donut and it may take some practice, but once you get it right, you’ll love it! Unsure of your messy bun and braiding skills? No problem! We’ll create the style for you! This look is particularly glamorous when paired with a smoky eye or bold lip.

3. Waterfall Braids

A waterfall braid is a chic, modified version of the traditional French braid look. The hair is half up, half down, which is a perfect compliment to a prom dress. Waterfall braids work best on loosely curled or waved locks and can be created by allowing top pieces to fall loose as you gather them into your braid.
