Chevrolet Performance U.S. Nationals
Every year in late August and early September, the Chevrolet Performance U.S. Nationals rumbles into Lucas Oil Raceway in Brownsburg over Labor Day weekend. Whether you are a race enthusiast or not, you should attend this event, which is commonly known as the Super Bowl of the National Hot Rod Association’s (NHRA) season. Every U.S. Nationals ticket also serves as a pit pass, turning every attendee into a VIP with unmatched access compared to any other significant professional car racing event. Free of charge, visitors may interact with the drivers and their teams and see their incredible equipment. Race teams occasionally even give out vehicle parts for visitors to take home with them. During your visit, don’t forget to take the kids to Nitro Alley, which features games, exhibits, race gear, and other interactive experiences that are fun for the whole family.
North Salem Old Fashion Days
Thousands of visitors have flocked to the little village of North Salem for more than 40 years in search of a true small-town celebration. A massive parade on Saturday morning, live music all weekend, tractor, truck, and even horse pulls, a ton of food and craft exhibitors, a car show, a pizza-eating competition, and the annual bed race—which always takes place on Monday—are just a few of the events. Never heard of a bed race? It is one of the most exciting displays you will ever see, which is still another motivation to see it for yourself. Teams, frequently decked out in outrageous attire, race down Pearl Street while pushing a team member atop an actual bed on wheels!
